Job title: Supervisor, Lens grinder & Polisher

Location: St. Catharines, Ontario

Wages: $24.50 /hour

Permanent Full-time 35 hours per week

Start Date: As soon as possible

Employment timings: morning, day, evening, weekends

Requirements for Job:

Language: English

Education:

1-year to 2-year college diploma, CEGEP, or other non-university program

Work Experience:

3 years to less than 5 years

Ability to supervise:

3-4 people

Work location and conditions:

On site lab. Perform repetitive tasks, requiring manual dexterity, attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination.

Personal Suitability:

Effective interpersonal skills, organized, reliable & team player

General skills:

Prepare & submit reports to optician/manager. Requisition & order materials, equipment and supplies

Specific skills:

Set up specialized cutting and edging machine and lens equipment, supervise, coordinate & schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers, resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, recommend measures to improve prductivity & product quality. Arrange for grinding or polishing of lenses or grind and polish lenses, cut and edge lenses & fit lenses into frames
