3 Main duties
Supervisors in this unit group perform some or all of the following duties for day-care:
Co-ordinate, assign and review the work of clerks engaged in the following duties: wordprocessing; record keeping and filing; operating telephones and switchboards; data entry;desktop publishing; and other activities involving general office and administrative skills
Establish work schedules in the day-care and procedures and co-ordinate activities withother work units or departments in the day-care example teachers, cooks, cleaners etc
Resolve work-related problems when it arises and prepare and submit progress and otherreports for review to the manager
Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies for the day-care
Requisition supplies and materials required by the children and staff in the day-care
Ensure smooth operation of office equipment and machinery, and arrange for maintenanceand repair work
May perform the same duties as workers supervised.
Prepare roster for staff who will do after hour day-care support for parents
Education
Secondary school is required
Certification in office administration
Experience
Experience as a clerk or administrative staff for 2 to 3 years will be an added advantage
Language
English language Band 4 or 5
Availability
As soon as possible. The summer is around the corner and parents need where to drop theirchildren to be able to go to work.
