1 Location: Gateway One East, Calgary, Alberta
Compensation: $40,000 annually (approx. 20 hours per week)
Reports To: Condominium Manager / Condominium Board
The Part-Time Concierge / Building Handyperson is responsible for providing friendly, reliable, and professional front-line service to residents and guests while maintaining the appearance, functionality, and safety of the building. This role combines concierge-level service with light maintenance and handyperson duties to ensure residents’ comfort and satisfaction.
Resident Services
Welcome residents, guests, and contractors courteously and professionally.
Respond promptly to inquiries, requests, and concerns, ensuring a positive resident experience.
Assist with deliveries, access control, and coordination of scheduled move-ins and move-outs.
Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in all interactions.
Facility & Building Support
Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting door handles, patching small wall damages, and troubleshooting small plumbing or electrical issues.
Conduct regular building walkthroughs to inspect common areas, mechanical rooms, and parkade for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
Monitor fire panels, extinguishers, and report any irregularities.
Ensure public spaces are tidy, well-lit, and welcoming at all times.
Oversee contractors and vendors while on site; document their visits and ensure compliance with building protocols.
Monitor entrances, exits, and security systems to ensure only authorized access.
Maintain logs of building activities, incidents, and maintenance tasks.
Report emergencies or safety issues immediately to management and assist in response coordination.
Manage intercom and fob systems; maintain accurate resident contact and access records.
Post and distribute building notices, memos, and announcements as directed.
Operational Support
Support booking and setup for events or amenity room usage.
Maintain inventory of building supplies and request replenishment as needed.
Coordinate garbage and recycling pickups or special collection requests.
Assist in minor seasonal tasks (e.g., clearing snow from entryways, checking drains, etc.).
Organize annual inspections for the building (including but not limited to fire, valve replacement, filters etc.)
Proven experience in customer service, building operations, or maintenance.
Basic handyperson or light maintenance skills required.
Familiarity with residential building systems (security, fob, intercom, fire panel, CCTV) is an asset.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Reliable, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Part-time: Approximately 20 hours per week (Monday through Friday, very occasional weekends).
Compensation: $40,000 annually (Invoiced by you and paid via EFT monthly)
Availability: The Concierge / Handyperson should be reachable on call for urgent or one-off building needs, such as assisting with emergency access, minor repairs, or supporting management in time-sensitive situations (e.g., flooding, alarms, or after-hours contractor access). While these occurrences are not regular, flexibility and reliability are essential.
