Full job description

At Cedarbrae Medical Center, we offer services including Family Medicine, OBGYN, Psychiatry, Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, Chiropractor Treatment, Acupuncture, Cupping and more. This is a full-time, on-site role for a Medical Clinic Assistant at Cedarbrae Medical Center. The role involves various administrative tasks such as phone etiquette, using medical terminology, providing administrative assistance, communicating with patients and staff, and delivering excellent customer service.

 

Employment details:

Designation:       Medical Clini Assistant – NOC 33109

Job Type:             Full-time (Full-time availability (40 hours/week) with flexibility to accommodate overtime based on clinic needs.

Pay: From           $36.00 per hour

Hours / Week:    No less than 40 hours per week

Work Location:  In person @ 3630 Lawrence Avenue East, Scarborough, ON M1G 1P6

Education:         Certificate, diploma or short-term college programs in Health care is required

Experience:      Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Clinic Assistant in a medical clinic or similar establishment.

 

Skills required and Responsibilities to be handled:

  • Proven ability to independently support a team of 3 to 4 healthcare providers.
  • Exceptional multitasking, scheduling, and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume workload.
  • Must have hands-on experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Must have hands-on experience in booking hospital procedures and surgeries.
  • Must be fully proficient in using hospital systems, including Epic.
  • Hands-on experience in both OBGYN and Psychiatry specialties is mandatory.
  • Maintain and update patient files and records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Answer telephone and electronic inquiries, relay messages, and respond to general patient questions.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, physicians, and other healthcare staff.
  • Must have hands-on experience on verifying and processing medical insurance forms, billing information, and payments.
  • Prepare, edit, and proofread correspondence, medical reports, and forms.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Proficiency in Telus PS suite Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems with a strong commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and data security.
