Job Duties:

• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials using hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout, dimensions, and materials required for renovation projects.
• Build, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures.
• Fit and install trim items such as doors, stairs, mouldings, crown mouldings, casings, chair rails, baseboards, wainscot panels, window sills, aprons, and other decorative features.
• Maintain, repair, and renovate existing structures in residential properties.
• Operate various woodworking machines, power saws, planers, jointers, and sanders to prepare and finish materials as required.
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or structural elements to ensure safety and code compliance.
• Collaborate with other trades (plumbers, electricians, painters) to complete renovation projects efficiently and safely.
• Ensure all work is completed according to Alberta Building Code, safety standards, and company quality guidelines.
• Follow occupational health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized job site to promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

Skills Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school is usually required.
• 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience is required.

• Strong attention to detail, time management, and teamwork skills.
• Must be physically capable of performing manual labour and working in various weather conditions.
