Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Receiving Supervisor to oversee the receipt and management of incoming goods within our warehouse operations. This leadership role involves coordinating inventory management, ensuring efficient shipping and receiving processes, and maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, logistics, and team supervision, with a focus on process improvement and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily receiving activities, including inbound shipments, inventory control, and documentation accuracy.
- Oversee warehouse distribution processes to ensure timely and accurate receipt of goods.
- Manage inventory management systems such as AS400 and Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock levels and movement.
- Coordinate with logistics providers, 3PL partners, and internal teams to optimize shipping & receiving workflows.
- Lead and manage warehouse staff, fostering a team-oriented environment focused on safety, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and safety protocols during all materials handling activities.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment such as forklifts and other materials handling tools.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline warehouse operations.
- Oversee heavy lifting procedures and materials handling to maintain safety and operational standards.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments using systems like AS400; monitor inventory levels for replenishment needs.
- Conduct regular training on warehouse procedures, safety regulations, and equipment operation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or logistics management within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse distribution, and materials handling processes.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), AS400, and other logistics software.
- Experience operating forklifts or other heavy machinery; relevant certifications preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety and materials handling.
- Mechanical knowledge beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and documentation accuracy.
