Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare a wide range of South Indian specialty dishes (e.g., Sambar, all kind of curry and gravy, Dosa, Uttapam, Parotha, Vada, Idly, Vada curry, Appam, Payasam)
  • Ensure consistent high quality food preparation, presentation and service
  • Hire and train staff in preparation, cooking, and safe handling food. 
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations by scheduling and supervising kitchen helpers to maintain smooth workflow. 
  • Work with specialized cooking equipment such as oven, grill etc.
  • Estimate food requirements and costs and monitor and order supplies.
  • Adapt recipes to meet special dietary needs or customer preferences, ensuring authenticity and quality.
  • Inspect and ensure freshness of ingredients, minimizing food waste through proper storage and portion control.
  • Participate in menu planning and contribute to the development of new dishes and specials.

 

Job Requirements

  • Completion of secondary School.
  • Minimum 3 years of cooking experience in a commercial environment or education in cooking/culinary.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Commercial experience in South Indian cuisine would be an asset.
