Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the work of other plasterers and drywall installers
• Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster on walls, ceilings, and other surfaces
• Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure proper setting
• Cut and install metal corner beads to reinforce and protect exterior corners
• Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
• Finish corners and angles and apply decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
• Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
• Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
• Position and secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
• Smooth out excess compound and allow it to dry properly
• Apply coats of stucco to exterior building surfaces using a trowel or spray equipment to create weatherproof finishes
• Cut openings in lath for ventilation, piping, ducts, and electrical outlets
• Install metal stud framing and furring for drywall or plaster walls and ceilings using hand and power tools
• Prepare wall and ceiling layouts according to blueprints and specifications
• Estimate material quantities and project costs for assignments
