Long-Haul Truck Driver

Job Duties:

• Drive and operate truck trailers as a team for long-haul deliveries.
• To obtain and hand over documents required to transport goods from and to the person concerned and ensure proper documentation before leaving.
• Follow Hours of Service regulations (E-Logs)
• Promptly deliver customer freight and update dispatch on ETA’s
• Plan trip logistics in advance
• Record the trip details, fuel consumption, and driven miles to match our system.
• Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain logbooks
• Perform a thorough pre-trip inspection before leaving the yard
• Perform in-route inspection after scheduled intervals to maintain road safety and Ensure cargo is secured properly by safety requirements.
• May be able to perform emergency repairs, if needed.
• To take all necessary safety precautions in a situation of breakdown of the truck at the highway like emergency lights etc.
• Maintain contact with dispatchers, Colleague drivers, and customers via on-board communication device.
• Periodically take the vehicle to the designated mechanic for a thorough check-up and promptly report any fault in the vehicle.

Job Requirements:

• Completion of high school is preferred.
• Class 1 Driver’s License
• Experience in long-haul truck driving would count as an asset but not mandatory.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
