Assurance & Risk Management Manager
• Support implementation of enterprise and operational risk management frameworks across smelters and refineries, ensuring alignment with ISO 31000 and corporate standards.
• Develop and coordinate regional risk governance activities including risk committees, site reviews, and assurance programs.
• Lead/support risk assessments for high-impact hazard scenarios (process safety, environmental liabilities, infrastructure failures).
• Facilitate the use of Bow Tie and HAZOP to enhance risk control strategies.
• Maintain and evolve the regional risk register in collaboration with HSEC and HR.
• Provide risk-based decision support for projects, regulatory changes, and new technologies.
• Lead/support investigations and root cause analyses of major incidents.
• Promote risk culture by training and guiding leaders, managers, and site teams.
• Contribute to deployment of digital risk management tools and dashboards.
• Prepare and present accurate risk reports to executives and the board.
• Plan and execute audits of smelting operations, analyze findings, and ensure corrective actions.
• Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed team of Assurance Specialists.
Type: Full-time, permanent position
Work Schedule: 37,5 hours per week, 7,5 hours per day.
Travel: 20-35% of the time to various sites. Flexibility required for emergencies.
French and English (fluency required). Knowledge of German, Spanish, Norwegian, or Italian is an asset.
Annual Base Salary: CAD $215,000
Performance Pay: Annual bonus target 40% of base salary

• Master’s degree in engineering, Risk Management, or related discipline
•Minimum 10 years of related experience
• Strong expertise in ISO 31000, COSO ERM, OSHA PSM, EPA RMP.
• Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies
• Experience with risk modeling software (PHA-Pro, BowTieXP).
• Strong leadership, change management, communication, and analytical skills.
• Experience managing geographically dispersed teams.
