Overview

As a Cook at Smitty’s, you’ll play a key role in delivering delicious meals and great guest experiences. You will prepare quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen, maintain high food safety standards, and contribute to a clean and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking

• Prepare menu items following standardized recipes and portion guidelines

• Operate kitchen equipment including grills, fryers, ovens, and sauté stations

• Monitor cooking times and food temperatures to ensure safety and consistency

Quality & Safety

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in work areas and storage

• Comply with HACCP and all local food safety regulations

• Label and store ingredients properly, ensuring freshness and rotation

Inventory & Stocking

• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies

• Receive and store deliveries appropriately

Teamwork & Communication

• Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams for smooth operations

• Communicate order changes or issues promptly and clearly

Sanitization & Cleanup

• Clean workstations, equipment, and utensils before, during, and after shifts

• Dispose of garbage and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen

Flexibility

• Assist in other areas such as dishwashing, prep, or hosting during busy periods

• Cross-train across kitchen roles to support team needs

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cook preferred (especially in casual dining)

• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation

• Able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment

• Strong multitasking, time management, and teamwork skills

• Positive attitude and professional demeanor

• Must be available to work full-time

• Shifts range from early morning breakfast to evening close
