North Mountain Construction has been providing construction services in the Kootenays of British Columbia since 2007. We have completed projects ranging from historic renovations like the Savoy Hotel, Ainsworth Hot Springs, and Kootenay Co-op Grocery Store to custom luxury homes. Founded by Nelson-born Gabe Tyler, we are deeply rooted in the local community, employing over 50 residents and fostering strong relationships with local sub-trades and suppliers to ensure exceptional value, integrity, and expertise in every project.

We are hiring a full-time Project Administration Officer to join our team in Nelson, BC.

Job Description:

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Pay rate: $37/hour (32–35 hours per week)
  • Benefits: Health benefits (Dental plan, Health care plan, Vision care benefits)
  • Hours per week: 32–35, with possible overtime when required
  • Work Shift: Early morning, morning, day, overtime as needed
  • Location: 5643 Taghum Frontage Rd., Nelson, BC V1L 6Y2 (on-site)

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in developing comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Help define project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Set up and maintain project documentation, including schedules, reports, invoices, contracts, and other financial documents
  • Prepare and distribute project-related communications, such as meeting agendas, minutes, and progress reports
  • Coordinate project meetings, workshops, and training sessions, including scheduling, logistics, and material preparation
  • Track and manage project tasks, ensuring team members complete their assignments on time
  • Process and track project-related invoices, expenses, and budget against actual spending
  • Prepare detailed progress reports, status updates, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and escalate risks or issues to the Project Manager for timely resolution
  • Support the project close-out process, including documentation, final reporting, and lessons learned

 Job Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1–2 years of experience in project coordination or administration
  • Experience in the construction industry is an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office (including MS Excel)
  • Effective interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication in English
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and large workloads
