Position Title: Early Childhood Educator Assistant (NOC 42202)

Location: 7925 E Saanichton Rd, Saanichton, BC V8M 1T4, Canada

Start Date: As soon as possible

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $21.25 ~ $23.00 per hour (CAD)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (8-hour shifts with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break)

About Us

Kidspace Learning Centres Eagle Creek Inc. is a fully licensed childcare facility providing quality care for children from birth to school age. We are currently seeking dedicated Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team and work with children aged 0 to school age.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children

Storytelling

Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest

Order supplies and equipment

Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children

Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records

Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts

Provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity

Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits

Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties

Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods

Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor

Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors

Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings

Qualifications

A college diploma is required

Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECEA) certificate

Current First Aid certification

Experience an asset

Satisfactory criminal record check

Efficient interpersonal skills

Ability to multitask
