Job Details

  • Salary: $33 – $36 per hour (to be negotiated), 30–35 hours per week

  • Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time

  • Schedule: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend

  • Work Site Environment: Non-smoking

  • Work Setting: Work in employer’s home


Languages

  • English required

  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an asset; otherwise, familiarity with and comfort using instant translation tools is required


Education

  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required


Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience caring for seniors with mobility impairment and mild cognitive impairment


Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses

  • First Aid Certificate required

  • Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate will be considered an asset


Target Client Group

  • Elderly, female


Security and Safety Requirements

  • Criminal record check

  • Medical exam (routine vaccinations required, including COVID-19 and flu vaccine)


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily personal needs, including dressing, grooming, and bedside comfort care

  • Administer medications according to schedule

  • Support clients with bathing, toileting, and hygiene needs

  • Encourage physical activity, such as walking or light stretching, suited to ability

  • Perform light housekeeping and household tasks to maintain a tidy environment

  • Provide emotional support and companionship through conversation and shared activities

  • Adapt to individual health and personal care needs

  • Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals

  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, social outings, and community activities

  • Engage the care recipient in memory-stimulating activities

  • Encourage social interaction and meaningful conversations
