Position: Sushi Chef (NOC: 6321)
Job Duties:
- Prepare and cook wide range of Japanese traditional dishes
- Create high quality sushi including cooking rice, rolling sushi, temperature recording, cutting sashimi, cutting and packaging for take-out and dine-in plate preparation
- Create new recipes and plan menus
- Ensure all operating standards including food safety and quality are strictly adhered to
- Create connections with each guest in a friendly, professional and caring manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station
- Perform monthly inventories and training & supervising of kitchen staff as required
- Complete opening and closing duties efficiently and safely, using the correct procedures
Terms of Employment: Permanent
Wage: $18.00 for 40 hours per week
Benefit: 10 days paid vacation
Qualifications/Skill Requirements:
Education: ompletion of Colleage Education related to culinary services
Experience: minimum 2-3 years of cook or chef experience in a commercial kitchen (Japanese food cooking experience would be a great asset, and the experience in a supervisory capacity would be an asset as well.)
Language: speak English, read English, write English
