Location: Bishop's Falls, NL A0H 1C0

Salary: $34.00 per hour for 35 hours per week

Number of vacancies: 1

Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Job Type: Permanent employment

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing every aspect of the employment process, including orientation and training new staff members
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
  • Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process. 
  • Inform job applicants regarding the employment requirements, terms, and conditions of the employment.
  • Maintain employee record as per the policy and legal requirements.
  • Prepare job offers.
  • Develop training and development programs
  • Assist in performance management processes
  • Organize staff training, provide information on employee assistance and counselling.
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees or between employees and management.
  • Manage the application process - check application forms, shortlist, interview, select successful candidate/s and inform unsuccessful ones.
  • Carry out strategy and planning activities and develop strategies to meet immediate and long-term staff requirements.
  • Develop and implement policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures, and absence management.
  • Generate HR reports for management reviews.

 Eligibility Requirements:

  • College/CEGEP is required as the minimum qualification; in HR and administration or related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in HR and Admin
  • Demonstrable planning and prioritizing skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking and delivering to deadlines
  • Knowledge of HR systems; including improving HR databases; experience of building reports and extracting information and intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft systems such as Excel and Word
