Job description

Job title: Host/hostess - food service (NOC 64300)

Full-time permanent. 

Work hours: Monday-Friday, 35 hours/week

Wage: $16.00/hour

Work Location: 27 Airport Heights Dr, St. John's, NL A1A 4W8

Language: English

Vacation: 2 weeks of paid vacation per annum or remuneration of 4% of gross salary

Job responsibility

1. Greet every customers with a smiling face

2. Escort customers to their dining tables with providing menus and tableware

3. Receive the telephone call of dine-in booking and take-away orders, while pass the message to the restaurant manager and food service supervisor correctly

4. Schedule the bookings and assign the table effectively 

5. Keep waiting area and host stand clean

6. Respond to customers’ inquiries and feedback positively

7. Receive suppliers and packages and keep records

Employment requirements

1. Completion of secondary school is required.

2. Experience as a waiter/waitress or other food service role is an asset.

3. Strong organizational skills, verbal communication skills.

4. Good team player. 

5. Work language is English, and being fluent in a second language will be an asset.
