Job Location:

• Scarborough, ON

Job Type:

• Permanent/Full Time - Start as soon as possible

Salary:

• $76,000 - $86,000 per year

Shift & Schedule:

• 37.5 hours per week

Job Specific Responsibilities

• Under the guidance of the management, develop written instruction including health and safety policies, food safety programs, work procedures and guidelines, posters, risk assessment templates and other written materials.
• Develop health and safety training programs.
• Assist with the assessment of the health and safety training needs, develop action plans with input from the management as well as arranging and delivering of training programs to meet those needs.
• Perform health and safety inspections, as well as coordinate any related action plans with input from the management.
• Assist employees in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, as well as act as technical resource and advisor to management on related matters.
• Ensure legislative compliance and reporting on health and safety matters are met.
• Complete all health and safety reports in a timely manner including but not limited to WSIB and OH&S forms and ensure accidents and incidents are properly investigated and reported.
• Ensure site health and safety policies and procedures are in place aimed at promoting the well-being of employees.
• Participate in regular health and safety meetings with the management to ensure program implements and goals are met.
• Coordinate health and safety supplies by ensuring appropriate supplies are identified and purchased in a timely and cost-effective manner and used appropriately.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Language: English
• A minimum of 2 years of food health and safety experience, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Degree in food, nutrition, health and safety, or a related field.
• Must be able to facilitate and conduct various health and safety training.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
