Work Location: Various locations across lower mainland.
Job Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of lightweight steel and other materials.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and other buildings.
- May prepare cost estimates for clients.
- Supervise apprentices and other construction workers.
Skills Requirements
Education: Completion of Secondary school is required
Experience:
Completion of a minimum of 3-year apprenticeship program
OR
Minimum3 or more years of work experience in the relevant field is required.
Language: English
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, Tight deadlines, physically demanding, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Overtime required, handling heavy loads, Willing to travel, Work at heights, Confined spaces, Noisy, Dusty
