Tandoori Junction Indian Cuisine is a fine dining Indian restaurant located in the heart of downtown Nanaimo, BC. We serve traditional dishes from all regions of India, while maintaining high standards and the quality of the food being served.

Position Details:
Our Dishwasher is an important position in the smooth operation of our food services. Ensuring that a sufficient stock of clean flatware and utensils are consistently available is critical to the prompt service of fresh foods. Ensuring that proper cleanliness and sterilization levels are maintained helps the customer to feel comfortable in their fine dining experience and helps to protect the reputation of the restaurant.

Job Duties:

  • Scrap organic waste into appropriate disposal containers
  • Pre-wash plates, cups, glasses, pots, pans, kitchen equipment by hand
  • Place dishes in sanitizer as appropriate and run sanitizer
  • Remove dishes from sanitizer and put back in appropriate storage locations
  • Stock serving stations with dishes and utensils as needed
  • Return kitchen equipment, etc. to its proper station/storage location
  • Ensure sufficient supply of dishes, pots and pans are available at all times
  • Maintain an orderly and safe work area and do not allow backlog to overflow into food prep work areas
  • Sweep and maintain general kitchen floor cleanliness at all times
  • Sort and remove trash from kitchen, placing it into designated disposal areas
  • Assist in the loading/unloading of delivery trucks as needed

Specific Hiring Criteria:

  • No experience necessary
  • No specific education is required
  • Training will be provided on-the-job
  • Must be able to work with and control machinery and processes
