Home Support Worker

Angela's family is looking for a Home Support Worker for a 78-year-old female. Please see the following employment information.

Job Details:

1. Salary: $19 per hour, 30 hours per week
2. The employee is required to be flexible to cover shifts, some weekends. Overtime may be required. Hours will vary from day, night and evening.
3. Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent-free
4. Work Location: Richmond Hill, ON L4B 1X4

Job Duties:

1. Assist the senior with daily living activities, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, ambulation and medication management for the senior’s long-term illness
2. Provide meaningful companionship for the senior
3. Have interpersonal skills, including exceptional patience and listening skills
4. Maintain a safe, comfortable and caring environment for the senior
5. Prepare meals appropriate to the senior
6. Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, such as washing dishes, keeping the room clean, etc.
7. Observe and report changes in the senior’s physical and emotional status

Requirements:

1. Completion of Secondary (High) School education is required
2. Previous experience in the same field and/or previous full-time training in the field will be an asset.
3. First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate would be an asset
4. Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English.
