The Whistler Children's Centre is a non-profit Early Childhood Care and Education Centre offering child care programs to local families children ages 3 months to 5 years. We are looking for an ECE assistant to join out team.
Position: ECE assistant
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hourly Wage: $20.00- $21.00 (Depends on qualification and work experience)
Working Hours: 34-36 hours per week
Working Location: 7146 Nesters Road, Whistler, BC V8E 0E2, Canada

Our teachers are responsible for:
- Children – Provide an enriched environment that focuses on learning through play. Foster language development for both verbal and non-verbal children. Ensure that assists ECE in guidance of children encourages positive self-concept, follows policy, and teaching age appropriate problem solving skills. Assist with proper eating, dressing and toilet habits. Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods. Assist in establish behaviour guidelines for children.
- Administration – Support ECE with Plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate activities and engaging in activities including storytelling, music, and crafts, developing meaningful relationships with children. Assist ECE to prepare report and record of development of children. Regularly attend room meetings and general staff meetings. Work with other early childhood educators or early childhood educator assistants. Maintain supplies and equipment, assist in house keeping and cooking duties.
- Working with Families – Builds strong relationships with families based on respect, empathy, and clear communication.
- Health and Safety – Ensures that all current WCC policies relating to health and safety and nutrition are followed.
Qualification:
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) Certificate is required.
- 1 to 7 months work experience in child care is required.
- Completion of an early childhood education assistant certificate program or post-secondary courses in early childhood education is recommended.
- First aid certificate is required.
- A clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
- Ability to work in a team and self-motivated.
- Working level of English (oral and written).
