5-Day Work Week: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, or;
4-Day Work Week: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Thursday
Essential functions:
Ensuring that the shop is clean and organized at all times.
Assist in minimizing work-related accidents and injuries by inspecting work stations regularly, identifying potential safety hazards and report/manage them accordingly as well as being aware of fabrication safety regulations and accident protocol
Assist in building and assembling architectural/structural glass and metal framing installation components
Report to, and assist shop lead hand and project manager with planning work activities
Count inventory
Assist with review plans/shop drawings for understanding and accuracy
Experience:
Cleaning in a shop or manufacturing setting
Exposure to working in a shop or manufacturing setting
Accurately using and reading measuring tools
Safe and efficient operation of hand and power tools, as well as construction tools and equipment
Understanding and applying basic math skills in a fabrication shop, or similar setting
Performing within the guidelines of building codes and construction safety regulations
Skills and Certifications:
Able to keep a clean and tidy workspace
Punctual and reliable
Ability to work well with your hands
Willing and eager to learn
Have or, willing to obtain valid CPR/First Aid training and relevant H&S training certifications
Able to work well with others and contribute to a positive work environment
Good written and oral communication skills
The ability to remain calm in stressful or fast-paced situations
Comfortable with technology like computers and hand-held devices
Valid driver’s license or own transportation to/from work
Perform job duties independently or as part of a team
