  • Job location: Spring Garden Road, Halifax, Nova Scotia
  • $15 hourly for 40 hours per week
  • Permanent, Full-Time
  • Employment conditions: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend

 

Job requirements

Education

High School graduate; graduates of culinary programs preferred but not essential

Job Duties

 

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of North American cuisine
  • Preparation of sautéed items and their sauces
  • Preparation of fish, meat and poultry dishes, butchering these and preparation of appropriate sauces
  • Frying foods
  • Preparation of hot appetizers, salads, soups and vegetables
  • Overseeing subordinate personnel in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Helping executive chef or executive sous chef in planning menus,
  • Ensuring quality of food
  • Clean kitchen and work area

 

Benefits:

As per regulations plus share on gratuities; overtime pay of 1.5 time hourly rate after 48 hours of work in a week
