JOB SUMMARY: 

As a Construction Labourer atNorth Western Aluminum Ltd., you will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of glazing projects, from drafting to procurement, manufacturing, and installation. You will work closely with our experienced team of Red Seal certified crew leaders and have the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business.

 

JOB TITLE: Construction Labourer

JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES:

  • Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
  • Load or unload construction materials.
  • Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding.
  • Remove, fill, or compact earth.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Assist craft workers.
  • Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
  • Perform site clean-up.
  • Training will be provided
  • Unloading tools, prepare necessary materials, and set up required equipment.
  • General clean up of the site; sweeping, shoveling, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials and overall site maintenance.
  • Perform setup and cleanup tasks at a job site.
  • Provide labour support as needed for specialty crew.
  • Follow project instructions and provide assistance to contractors as require

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in the property restoration industry is an asset but it is not required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Repetitive tasks
  • Attention to detail
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching and kneeling

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Permanent Full-time, Long-term.

 

WAGES: $ 23.05 per hour

HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week

 

OVERTIME: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations.

 

BENEFITS PACKAGE:

  • Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by the employer.
  • Vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday on a semi-monthly basis.
