Job Title: Carpenters 

Terms of Employment: 30-40 hours per week, Permanent

Start Date: As soon as possible

Wage: $30.00-34.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)

No of Positions: 6

Job Duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• General handyman duties
• Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware
• Build, maintain, repair and structures in residential, industrial, commercial, rental properties and other establishments
• Ensure work areas and equipment are always clean
• May supervise other construction workers 

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS 

Education: Completion of secondary school is required.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in carpentry or related field is required.

*** University or college diploma in carpentry will be considered an asset.

Language: Ability to communicate in oral and written English is required.

Benefits: Extended health and dental benefits is provided to successful candidates who have passed their 3 months probationary period.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive Tasks, physically demanding requires bending, crouching, kneeling, Handling Heavy loads, requires lifting, pulling, and carrying of equipment and other objects, Standing for long period of time, Hand-eye co-ordination.

Personal Suitability:

• Ability to work in confined spaces, as well as high height levels and in noisy places
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to do physical work for long shifts.
• Ability to be mobile and willing to travel to various job sites.
• Ability to have good understanding of the construction process.
