Job Summary:

As a Production Supervisor at Loot Toy Co, you will be leading the charge in our Vancouver-based studio, overseeing the handmade production of our beloved products for kids and gift-givers alike. Job Description and Duties:

  • Oversee and manage workers who formulate, build, mold, finish, and inspect products such as bath fizzies, bath salts and bubble bath powders.
  • Create and maintain methods to meet work schedules and coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Solve work-related issues and propose solutions to enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Assess requirements and order necessary ingredients, materials and supplies for production
  • Train workers on job duties, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Recommend personnel actions, including hiring and promotion decisions.
  • Generate production and management reports as needed.
  • Set up machines and equipment for efficient production processes (as required).

 

Education, Experience and Language Requirements:

  • Completion of Secondary School is required
  • University education is an Asset
  • At least 1 year of related experience – 2 years
  • Able to read, write and speak in English

 

Working Conditions and Other Requirements: 

  • The role requires working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • You must be comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time and be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • The role involves leading and managing a team of production workers, so strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
  • The ability to think creatively and problem-solve on the fly is a must, as is a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Prior supervisory experience in production is an asset ideally in a handcrafted or artisanal production setting
  • Familiarity with the materials and tools used in bath product production is a plus, but not required.

 

Anticipated Start Date of Employment:  As soon as possible

 

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full Time, Long Term

 

Hours of Work: 32 hours per week 

 

Wages:  $34.70 per hour 

 

Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations
