Responsibilities
- Overseeing salespeople, cashiers, shelf stockers, and other employees.
- Managing finances and preparing an annual budget; keeping records of expenditure, sales figures, and employee performance.
- Monitoring shelve stocks and product displays, and the general appearance of the store.
- Ensures that accurate inventory record of stock is maintained in accordance with established procedures.
- Conducts regular inventory checks, random checks on at least a weekly basis, and thorough checks on at least a monthly basis.
- Assign sales workers to duties and prepare work schedules and ensuring the shifts are being conducted in accordance with company policies.
- Authorize payments by cheque and the return of merchandise.
- Addressing customers' requests, comments and resolving their problems that arises, such as customer complaints and supply shortages etc.
- Prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters.
- Hire and train or arrange for the training of new sales staff.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school is usually required.
- Minimum 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in performing similar job duties.
- Ability to write, read and speak in English is necessary.
- Ability to supervise 1-2, 3-4 or 5-10 people.
