Job Summary:


The Broker will be responsible for insurance to public, private, and not-for-profit organizations. They will be knowledgeable in providing guidance and information about our insurance services and products. They will advise clients on various policy options and features that cater to their need. They will ensure that the clients they handle receive effective technical, risk, product and market advice. The Broker will provide and negotiate optimized solutions to any perceived risks, answer inquiries from clients and other tasks as required.

Job Duties:

  • Create and present client insurance coverage, calculate premiums and payment procedures
  • Advise and inform clients and potential clients about our insurance services and products
  • Provide information about customized insurance coverage packages, the scope of coverage, available benefits, and other components of the policy that will meet the client’s needs
  • Create marketing initiatives to attract new clients and meet with potential clients to discuss their insurance needs
  • Sell various types of insurance that are related to construction, manufacturing, energy, hospitality and transportation sector
  • Identify and advise clients on sound risk management initiatives
  • Provide clients with technical, risk, product, and market guidance.
  • Advise clients on how and when to make a claim on their policy and ensure related forms are correctly filled out
  • Execute placement of accounts in the insurance marketplace on behalf of the commercial service teams.
  • Explain insurance policies to clients and answer further inquiries.
  • Organize and maintain a precise record of all clients.
  • Other related duties as required.


Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Long Term


Hours of Work: 40 hours per week 


Wages:  $27.75 per hour


Overtime: 
One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations

Benefits Package: 

  • Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by employer
  • Vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday on a
    semi-monthly basis 

 

Location of Work: #301 – 841 Cliffe Ave, Courtenay, BC V9N 2J8 Canada

Possibility of working remotely anywhere within Canada.


Anticipated Start Date of Employment:  As soon as possible


Education, Experience and Language Requirements:

  • Completion of Secondary School is required
  • Valid Insurance Agent/Broker license – Level 1 or higher
  • One year of related experience
  • Able to communicate in English
