Glazier (NOC 73111) - Saskatchewan

Flynn Canada Ltd. is currently recruiting skilled Glaziers (commercial) to fill 10 F/T vacancies in the Regina, Saskatoon and surrounding area (202 Solomon Drive, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4N 5A8 and 134 Faithful Crescent, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, S7K 8H8)). Other locations across Saskatchewan will be required based on awarded projects.

The position of “Glazier” is a skilled trade role, in which the Glazier works within a team, reporting to the Site Foreman to glass and glazing products in commercial, industrial and institutional structures.

Responsibilities include:
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine type and thickness of glass, frame, installation procedure and materials required
• Measure and mark glass and cut glass using glass cutters or computerized cutter
• Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products on walls, ceilings or exteriors of building
• Install, fit, fabricate and attach architectural metals or related substitute products in industrial, institutional and commercial buildings
• Providing training to more junior level, less experienced workers

Qualifications:
• Minimum 4 years' glazing (commercial) experience OR completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program OR Journeyman/woman certificate OR Journeyman/woman certificate equivalent
• Intermediate English or French skills

Terms of Employment:
• Permanent full time at 30-40 hours a week. Overtime at the rate of 1.5x after 10 hours a day or 80 hours biweekly.
• $35.00 per hour, depending on qualifications (starting wage for meeting minimum requirements is $35.00, wage scale increases based on additional experience). Salary increase is dependent on annual review;
• Benefits include: Extended Medical, Dental, Vision, Accidental Death & Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, as well as optional Registered Retirement Savings Plan & Deferred Profit Sharing Plan with company contribution up to $2500 annually.
• 6% vacation pay and 4% stat holiday pay on all earnings except for overtime and double time
