Glass installer-glazier

Job Duties: 

Determine the appropriate type of glass, frames, hardware and materials required for each installation or repair. 

Measure, mark and cut glass according to project specifications. 

Position and securely install glass panes in frames. 

Assemble and install prefabricated glass products, glass doors and related components. 

Install and adjust door, window and other hardware. 

Install and repair glass doors, windows and other glass structures. 

Install aluminum framing members and entranceway components. 

Replace damaged or broken glass and perform related repairs. 

Inspect completed installations to ensure proper fit, align ment and secure installation. 

Estimate materials and quantities required for installation and repair work. 

Transport and handle glass, frames, tools and installation materials safely. 

Instruct apprentices 

Supervise other workers 

Requirements: 

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. 

1 year to less than 2 years of experience as a glazier 

Experience measuring, cutting and installing glass is required. 

Good communication skills in English. 

Working Conditions: 

Physically demanding work. 

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform bending, crouching and kneeling. 

Frequent handling of heavy materials and glass. 

Work may take place indoors and outdoors at various customer locations.
