Position Overview
Septa Pharma is a leading Canadian pharmaceutical company dedicated to addressing critical healthcare needs. We are currently seeking a highly specialized and credentialed Field Clinical Specialist to bridge the gap between international pharmaceutical manufacturing, regulatory approval, and Canadian hospital administration.
As part of Septa Pharma’s strategic initiative to address critical domestic drug shortages through Health Canada’s Tier 3 Exceptional Importation framework, this role is critical to the launch and clinical support of imported therapies—specifically Lentocilin (Benzathine Benzylpenicillin) and Calcitriol.
Because these internationally sourced drug presentations differ significantly from traditional Canadian market formulations (e.g., Lentocilin requiring complex reconstitution versus the pre-filled syringe/cold chain standards of Canadian Bicillin L-A), this role demands a unique combination of clinical nursing expertise, international product familiarity, and advanced medical education skills. The successful candidate will serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME), developing specialized clinical literature, instructing hospital nursing staff on nuanced administration techniques, and ensuring the seamless, safe adoption of these critical therapies across Alberta healthcare facilities.

- Conduct comprehensive, on-site in-service training sessions for hospital nurses, clinical nurse specialists, pharmacists, and leading healthcare providers (HCPs) across Alberta's health zones.
- Provide highly specialized clinical guidance on the precise reconstitution, dilution, handling, needle gauge selection, and deep intramuscular injection techniques required for Lentocilin, clearly contrasting these protocols with traditional Canadian ready-to-use pre-filled syringe (PFS) presentations.
- Advise clinical teams on the storage, handling, and administration protocols for Calcitriol and other internationally sourced products within Septa Pharma's portfolio.
- Consult on associated clinical monitoring, integrating best practices for laboratory parameter tracking and blood draw protocols required for patient safety and therapeutic efficacy.
- Leverage clinical expertise to author, review, and localize medical support materials, including step-by-step administration guides, visual quick-reference cards, and specialized nursing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with Medical and Regulatory Affairs to draft comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), conversion charts, and clinical backgrounders that accurately translate foreign-labelled product monographs for a Canadian clinical audience.
- Transform complex pharmacological data and international regulatory details into clear, actionable, and compliant instructional content.
- Act as the definitive frontline clinical authority for healthcare professional inquiries regarding complex drug administration, reconstitution challenges, and specific handling requirements.
- Document, evaluate, and escalate medical inquiries, adverse events, and product quality complaints in strict compliance with Health Canada and Septa Pharma’s Pharmacovigilance protocols.
- Gather and analyze clinical feedback from field visits to identify emerging educational gaps or administrative challenges, proactively designing solutions to optimize frontline hospital workflows.
- Work in close coordination with the Mississauga Head Office teams (Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Product Management) to ensure all clinical messaging aligns with Health Canada Tier 3 Exceptional Importation guidelines.
