Position - Electrical Engineering Technologist

Job Description Position:

• Prepare technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout plans using CAD software
• Conduct tests, measurements, and diagnostics on electrical circuits, control systems, and power distribution equipment
• Install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems
• Collect and analyze data to evaluate system performance and identify faults or inefficiencies
• Support the development and implementation of automation, instrumentation, and control systems
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project specifications
• Participate in fieldwork, site inspections, and commissioning of electrical systems
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project teams to support project execution
• Assist in prototyping, building test fixtures, and validating new electrical designs
• Provide technical support for manufacturing, maintenance, and operational teams
• Monitor and maintain electrical equipment to ensure reliability and minimize downtime
• Recommend improvements to electrical systems for efficiency, safety, and cost reduction

Experience/Qualifications:

• Completion of a college diploma is required.
• 3+ years of experience as an electrical engineering technologist at a company specialized in the consulting/design/manufacturing of electrical power products.
• Relevant manufacturing industry experience i.e. Electrical components/ Resistors are mandatory.
• Machinery and metal equipment products manufacturing.

Other skill requirements:

• Expert-level knowledge on the applications, design, and engineering of power resistors
• Electrical drafting
• Thorough knowledge on switchgear, transformers, motors, and generators
• Thorough knowledge on cable sizing and selection
• Efficient interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication

Salary:

$38.00 per hour.
