Welder

Bowling Green Logistic Inc. is seeking two experienced Welders to join our team at our facility in Morrisburg, Ontario. The successful candidates will perform welding, fabrication, and repair work on trucks, trailers, and related transportation equipment. The position requires the ability to interpret welding specifications and drawings, operate welding and cutting equipment, fabricate and repair metal components, and inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy.

Work Location: On site
Wage: $28.00–$30.00 per hour, to be negotiated based on experience
Hours: 30–40 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible
Schedule: Morning, day, on-call, and other shifts as required
Overtime: Overtime available and may be required

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Welder will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Perform welding repairs on trucks, trailers, and related transportation equipment using appropriate welding processes and techniques.

  • Inspect damaged metal components and determine the appropriate welding and fabrication methods required for repairs.

  • Read and interpret welding specifications, drawings, diagrams, and repair instructions to complete assigned work accurately.

  • Measure, cut, fit, and fabricate metal components required for the repair and reinforcement of trucks and trailers.

  • Weld frames, brackets, supports, structural components, and other metal parts of trucks, trailers, and related equipment.

  • Set up and operate welding equipment, cutting tools, grinders, and other equipment required for metal fabrication and repair.

  • Select appropriate welding rods, wires, gases, and other materials based on the type and thickness of metal being repaired.

  • Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure proper alignment, strength, dimensions, and overall quality.

  • Perform grinding, finishing, and other metalworking operations to prepare welded components for installation, repair, or finishing.

  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas and follow established workplace health, safety, and equipment-handling procedures.

Education

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Experience

  • 3 years to less than 5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Previous experience performing welding and metal fabrication work.

  • Experience with truck repair and truck-trailer repair.

  • Experience operating welding equipment, including arc welding equipment.

Equipment and Machinery Experience

Experience operating and working with the following equipment is required:

  • Arc welding machines

  • Welding equipment

  • Cutting tools

  • Grinders

  • Metal shaping, straightening, and bending equipment

  • Manual and semi-automatic welding equipment

  • Flame-cutting equipment

Area of Specialization

The position specializes in:

  • Welding

  • Truck repair

  • Truck-trailer repair

  • Metal fabrication

  • Structural metal repair and reinforcement

Work Site Environment

This is an on-site position. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in the following conditions:

The position involves working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment. The successful candidate must be able to:
