Salary: 26.00 hourly / 35 to 40 hours per week

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Work site environment: Noisy, Dusty
Work setting: Various locations, Construction site

Tasks

• Assist carpenters with residential construction, renovation and repair projects.
• Measure, mark and prepare lumber and other materials according to instructions from carpenters.
• Carry, position and secure lumber, drywall, plywood and other building materials at job sites.
• Assist with assembling and installing wall, floor and roof framing components.
• Assist carpenters with installing doors, window frames, baseboards, mouldings and other woodwork.
• Hold and position materials while carpenters cut, fasten and assemble components.
• Operate basic hand and power tools used in carpentry work under the supervision of experienced carpenters.
• Prepare work areas by moving materials, covering surfaces and setting up tools and equipment.
• Assist with removing existing woodwork, fixtures and building materials during renovation projects.
• Load and unload construction materials and transport them between storage areas and work locations.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas by collecting debris, scrap materials and waste.
• Perform other construction labouring duties to support carpenters and maintain efficient workflow on residential projects.
