We are seeking skilled, experienced, and dependable Carpenters to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in

residential and commercial construction projects, contributing to the construction, installation, renovation, and finishing of various building structures and components. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical carpentry skills, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment. Position: Carpenter

Type of employment: Full-Time; Permanent

Work Location: Various Locations in Lower Mainland, BC as per company’s contracts

 

Salary & Benefits

 

Salary: $38.00 to $39.50 per hour

Overtime and Vacation Pay

Stable & full-time employment

Referral Bonus: $1000.00 CAD (for current employees of HMS Framing Ltd)

Relocation Assistance: $1500.00 CAD (for qualified candidates coming from different cities, provinces, or regions)

Job Responsibilities

 

• Read, interpret, and prepare layouts from blueprints and drawings.

• Perform necessary calculations related to construction plans.

• Estimate material requirements and costs and plan the work to be done.

• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

• Build foundations, and install floor beams, subflooring, walls, and partitions.

• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.

• Apply finishes to woodwork in houses and buildings using hand tools and paneling.

• Supervise, instruct, and collaborate with other construction workers to ensure smooth project execution.

• Discuss and resolve work procedures, complaints, and construction problems with clients and construction teams.

• Ensure work is planned, sequenced, and executed effectively, considering budgets and timelines.

• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring proper handling and maintenance of tools and equipment.

• Ensure the structural integrity and safety of all work by following established codes and regulations.

• Review damage reports, prepare or review repair cost estimates, and plan necessary repair work.

• Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in performing additional tasks and responsibilities as directed.

 

Job requirements

 

• Completion of secondary school.

• Completion of 3-4-year apprenticeship program or at least 2 years of work experience in trade.

• Demonstrated knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and construction methods.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

• Physically capable of performing demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.

• Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and overall physical fitness.

• Comfortable working at heights and in various construction environments.

• Ability to communicate effectively in a team-oriented work environment.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Strong attention to detail with a reliable and professional work ethic.
