Miniota Motor Inn is a locally operated motel in the rural community of Miniota, Manitoba, providing accommodation and food services to local residents, travellers, and guests. Salary: $ 36,000 annually

Location: Miniota Motor Inn, 177 Miniota Rd S, Miniota, MB R0M 1M0

Language of work: English

Terms of Employment: Full-time; permanent position

Working hours: 40  hours per week

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: Minimum 1 year of work experience as a cook in a restaurant or food service environment

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Work Setting: Rural Area, motel, restaurant

Shifts:

-        Day/Evening/Night shifts

-        Monday to Friday

-        Weekends

-        Holidays

Workplace conditions and physical capabilities:

-        Standing for extended periods

-        Repetitive tasks

-        Overtime may be required

-        Fast-paced environment

 

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with various cooking techniques, equipment, and kitchen tools.
  • A valid Food Handler’s Certification is preferred.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

-        Prepare and cook a variety of dishes based on the restaurant’s menu and customer orders;

-        Ensure orders are completed accurately and within appropriate service times;

-        Prepare ingredients for daily food service, including washing, cutting, portioning, and organizing food items;

-        Use appropriate cooking methods and kitchen equipment to prepare food safely and efficiently;

-        Monitor food preparation and cooking to ensure consistent quality, appropriate portion sizes, and presentation;

-        Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, refrigerators, and workstation;

-        Check the quality and freshness of ingredients and ensure food is properly stored and handled;

-        Maintain appropriate inventory levels of food, ingredients, and kitchen supplies and advise management when additional supplies are required;

-        Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures;

-        Assist management in planning and updating menu items as required;

-        Perform other kitchen-related duties as required.
