Junior Quality Control Inspector 

Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior QC Inspector to join our structural steel fabrication team. The successful candidate will assist with quality inspections throughout the fabrication process and ensure that work is completed according to approved shop drawings, project specifications, and company quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with inspections of structural steel fabrication, fit-up, welding, and final products.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and blueprints.
• Check dimensions, material sizes, and fabrication details against approved drawings.
• Perform basic dimensional inspections using measuring tools.
• Assist with visual inspection of welds and identify potential quality issues.
• Verify material identification and traceability.
• Complete QC inspection checklists, reports, and other quality documentation.
• Assist with identifying and documenting non-conforming work.
• Work closely with production and QC personnel to resolve quality issues.
• Assist with final inspections before shipment.
• Follow company quality procedures and applicable CSA/CISC/CWB requirements.
• Learn and develop knowledge of structural steel fabrication and welding quality requirements.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or quality control environment is an asset.
• Ability to read and understand engineering and shop drawings.
• Basic knowledge of structural steel fabrication and welding is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
• Previous QC experience is an asset but not required.
• CWB or welding inspection experience is an asset but not required.
