Central Roofing is a Halifax-based roofing contractor specializing in residential and commercial roofing services, including asphalt shingling, flat roofing, installations, repairs, maintenance, and inspections. Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting roofing operations in residential and commercial projects.

  • Assisting in the installation, repair, and replacement of roofing systems.

  • Administering job safety assessments and following all workplace health and safety procedures.

  • Handling roofing materials, tools, and equipment safely.

  • Removing old roofing materials and preparing surfaces.

  • Completing roof-related repairs and basic maintenance tasks.

  • Assisting lead roofers and supervisors on job sites, or leading team members with product knowledge and proper installation techniques (depending on experience).

  • Ensuring a clean, safe job site and proper work procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience & Education: No formal education is strictly required. Prior roofing or construction experience is preferred.

  • Physical & Environmental Requirements: Must be physically fit, able to perform manual labor, and comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.

  • Skills: Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and maintain a basic understanding of workplace safety standards. Language proficiency in English is required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Wages & Overtime: $20.00 per hour with overtime available and paid in accordance with the Nova Scotia Labour Standards Act.

  • Vacation & Holidays: 2 weeks of vacation per year with 4% vacation pay, plus paid statutory holidays.
