Wages:$39.00 per hour for 40- 60 hours per week

Location: Various locations across Canada & USA with yard based at 12310 114 Avenue Surrey V3V 3N6

Job Description:

Misty Blue Transport Ltd.  provides quality service in hauling General Freight all over Canada & USA. We urgently need additional long haul truck drivers.

Job Duties

• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks, weighing over 4600 kg with three or more axles, to transport goods and material to destinations
• Oversee all aspects of vehicles, such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading, and safety and security of cargo
• Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, lights, brakes and cold storage
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes Record cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption and other information in log book or on onboard computer
• Communicate with dispatcher and other drivers using two-way radio, cellular telephone and on-board computer
• May drive as part of a two-person team or convoy

Employment Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school is usually required.
• On-the-job training is provided.
• A Class 1 license is required to drive articulated trucks. Air brake endorsement (Z) is required for drivers who operate vehicles equipped with air brakes.
• Proficiency to communicate in basic English.
• Clean Driving abstract is required.

Benefits:

As per BC Employment standards 10 days of paid vacation annually or 4% vacation pay of the gross salary. As per Canada labour code for highway drivers, overtime rate of 1.5 times the regular is applicable after 60 hours per week.
