K9 FlossBoss Inc. provides professional pet grooming and related pet care services to clients in North York and the Greater Toronto Area. We are seeking a responsible and organized Pet Grooming Supervisor to oversee daily service operations, coordinate staff activities, maintain service quality, and support efficient delivery of pet grooming services.

The Pet Grooming Supervisor will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Supervise, coordinate, schedule and review the work of pet groomers and other pet-care and service staff.
  • Plan and organize daily grooming appointments, mobile services, events, programs and other service activities.
  • Assign work, establish schedules and coordinate staffing based on appointment volume and operational needs.
  • Train staff in grooming procedures, animal handling, workplace safety, equipment use, customer service standards and company policies.
  • Monitor the quality of grooming and pet-care services, sanitation standards, productivity and customer service.
  • Provide technical guidance to staff and recommend measures to improve service quality, safety and operational efficiency.
  • Perform the same duties as the workers supervised when required.
  • Provide or assist with pet grooming services, including bathing, brushing, drying, trimming and related grooming activities.
  • Provide or assist with cosmetic pet teeth-cleaning services in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
  • Safely handle and restrain animals and respond appropriately to animal behaviour during grooming and teeth-cleaning services.
  • Step in to perform grooming, animal-care and teeth-cleaning duties when other staff are absent or when additional operational support is required.
  • Communicate with clients regarding appointments, grooming instructions, special requests, service concerns and the care of their pets.
  • Assist clients with special needs and act as the point of contact during emergencies, animal-safety concerns and operational issues.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments, partner locations, service providers and event organizers.
  • Travel to client, event, partner and service locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area and elsewhere in Ontario, as required.
  • Drive to service locations and transport supplies or equipment when required for business operations.
  • Maintain service records, staff schedules, progress reports, incident reports and other operational documentation.
  • Requisition and order grooming products, materials, equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure that required supplies are available for daily operations.
  • Arrange for the maintenance and repair of grooming equipment, tools, computer equipment and other machinery used in service delivery.
  • Ensure that grooming equipment and other workplace equipment are operated safely and remain in proper working condition.
  • Resolve work-related problems, client concerns and service-delivery issues.
  • Perform other related supervisory, grooming and pet-care duties as required.

Employment Requirements

  • No education is required
  • one year of related experience in pet grooming, animal care or a comparable pet-service occupation is required.
  • Practical experience performing pet-grooming activities, including bathing, brushing, drying, trimming, pet teeth-cleaning and related grooming services, is required.
  • Experience safely handling and restraining animals and responding appropriately to animal behaviour is required.
  • Ability to coordinate, assign and review the work of pet-grooming and pet-care employees.
  • Ability to train workers in job duties, animal-handling practices, safety procedures, equipment use and company policies.
  • Ability to monitor service quality, sanitation standards, productivity and customer service.
  • Ability to resolve work-related problems and prepare operational, scheduling and progress reports.
  • Knowledge of pet-grooming procedures, animal behaviour and safe animal-handling practices.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work on site and travel to client, event and service locations throughout the GTA and occasionally elsewhere in Ontario, as required.
  • A valid driver’s licence is required.
