End Date: December 31, 2028 (with the possibility of extension for an additional year)
Working Hours: daytime on weekdays; occasional work on weekend
Compensation: $21.00 per hour
About the role
We’re seeking a skilled Home-care workerto provide safe, respectful, and person-centred care to a Chinese-speaking elderly male in a non-smoking, scent-free home environment.
What you’ll do
- Provide day-to-day support to our elderly father, helping him with daily routines as needed.
- Assist with walking and mobility, as he has difficulty with balance due to a leg condition; help prevent falls and ensure safety at home.
- Support simple exercises or stretching as recommended, and encourage him to stay active.
- Prepare and serve home-style meals based on his preferences and dietary needs, preferably Cantonese cuisine or light Chinese dishes.
- Remind him to take medications on time as instructed by family or healthcare providers.
- Observe and report any changes in his condition, mood, or appetite to the family.
- Provide companionship, including chatting, spending time together, and keeping him engaged in daily activities.
- Accompany him to medical appointments or short outings when needed.
- Help with light household tasks related to his care, such as cooking, laundry, and keeping his living area clean and safe.
- Maintain a calm, clean, and comfortable home environment to support his well-being.
What you bring
- Experience: At least 1 year of paid, verifiable senior care work experience in a home care setting. The experience must be supported by an employer reference. Training placements, volunteer work, and informal caregiving for family members do not count.
- Education: Completed formal training in home health aide, or home attendant, or personal support worker
- Credentials (required):
- Certificate or diploma confirming completion of the required training program
- CPR and First Aid Certificates
- Mandarin language skills are highly preferred, as the senior speaks Mandarin only.
- Personal suitability: Punctual, reliable, organized, excellent oral communication, honesty

- On-site only (no remote option)
