Inspire a Love of Reading, Writing, and Learning

Best Brains Learning Centre is a nationally recognized after-school enrichment program serving students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 (ages 3 to 14). Our proprietary, non-repetitive curriculum helps students develop strong reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills while building confidence and a lifelong love of learning.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional, and dedicated Part-Time English Instructor who enjoys working with children and is committed to helping every student achieve academic success.

Position Overview

As an English Instructor, you will teach small groups of students using the Best Brains curriculum. All lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom resources are fully provided, allowing you to focus entirely on teaching, mentoring, and fostering student growth.

No lesson planning required.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver High-Quality Instruction

• Teach English Language Arts to students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 using the Best Brains curriculum.
• Foster strong reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills.

Support Student Growth

• Adapt instruction to individual learning needs and abilities.
• Encourage students to become confident communicators and independent learners.

Monitor Student Progress

• Assess and track student performance and maintain accurate progress records.
• Work closely with the Centre Director to support student development.

Communicate with Families

• Provide parents and guardians with professional updates regarding student progress and achievements.

Classroom Management

• Maintain a positive, structured, organized, and safe classroom environment.

Qualifications

Preferred

• Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification.
• Teacher Candidates currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Liberal Arts, Communications, or a related discipline.
• College diploma candidates with relevant teaching or tutoring experience may also be considered.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum one year of teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or instructional experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of grammar, reading comprehension, and writing instruction.
• Outstanding classroom management and interpersonal abilities.

• Reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Passionate about literacy and helping students succeed academically.
