We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated Part-Time Abacus Instructor to join our growing team at Best Brains Learning Centre – Shoppers World Brampton.

This role is ideal for an individual with prior Abacus teaching experience who enjoys working with children and is passionate about helping students develop their skills through structured, engaging, and interactive instruction.

Position Overview

As an Abacus Instructor, you will teach small groups of students from Grade 1 to Grade 8 using the Best Brains Abacus curriculum.

You will guide students through various levels of Abacus learning, helping them master bead manipulation techniques, develop visualization skills, improve concentration, and build confidence in numerical problem-solving.

No lesson planning is required. Best Brains provides a comprehensive curriculum, instructional materials, lesson plans, and classroom resources, allowing you to focus entirely on teaching and student engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver High-Quality Abacus Instruction

• Teach Abacus to students from Grade 1 through Grade 8 using the Best Brains curriculum.
• Demonstrate proper Abacus techniques and methodologies.
• Create an engaging, supportive, and motivating learning environment.

Support Student Development

• Help students develop proficiency and confidence in the use of the Abacus.
• Foster concentration, visualization, accuracy, and disciplined learning habits.
• Adapt instruction to accommodate different learning styles and ability levels.

Monitor Student Progress

• Assess student performance and track progress through curriculum levels.
• Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress with the Centre Director.

Communicate Professionally

• Provide parents and guardians with timely and professional updates regarding student achievement and development.

Classroom Management

• Maintain a structured, organized, positive, and safe learning environment.
• Encourage active participation, accountability, and student engagement.

Qualifications & Requirements

Mandatory Requirement

Previous Abacus teaching experience is required.

Candidates must have prior experience teaching Abacus in a classroom, tutoring centre, enrichment program, or similar educational environment.

Applications from candidates without Abacus teaching experience will not be considered.

Experience

• Proven experience teaching Abacus to children.
• Experience working with students in Grades 1 through 8 is preferred.
• Experience in a tutoring centre, enrichment program, or educational setting is considered an asset.

• Strong knowledge of Abacus methodologies and instructional techniques.
• Ability to effectively teach and demonstrate Abacus concepts to young learners.
