Job Duties:
- Greet customers and provide courteous assistance with purchases and general inquiries.
- Scan merchandise, identify product prices and calculate the total amount payable using the point of sale system.
- Receive and process payments by cash, debit card, credit card, gift card and other accepted payment methods.
- Provide customers with receipts, correct change and information regarding prices and products when required.
- Wrap, bag or otherwise prepare purchased merchandise for customers.
- Verify customer identification and age when processing sales of regulated products such as liquor, tobacco or lottery products, where applicable.
- Count payments received and balance and reconcile the cash register at the end of the work shift.
- Stock products around the checkout area and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cashier station
