Job Description

Team Wood Kitchen Cabinets (2009) Ltd. located at Unit 8 12777 76A Avenue, Surrey, BC V3W 4Y8 provides services including millwork, countertops and custom-made kitchen cabinets for residential and commercial buildings. We are urgently looking for one CNC Machinist to add into our team.

Job Responsibilities
• Plan machining by studying the work order and reading the blue prints, drawings, interpreting

geometric dimensions and plan complete sequences of operations for equipment used in cabinet manufacturing.

• Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software to manufacture cabinet components with precision.

• Read and interpret cabinet drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to

determine machining operation to be performed

• Select and Install the correct CNC tools in order to perform the necessary machining operations as well selecting correct inserts and fixtures for machining

• Programming the machine in order to complete jobs or drawings

• Load up work pieces and set up CNC machine as per specifications

• Set up, operate and maintain CNC machine to make cabinets and other related products

• Check the dimensions and the stock of work-piece materials required to perform the job

• Calculate and set controls in order to regulate machining factors while operating the machine.

• Verifying conformance of finished work piece to specification.

• Informing supervisor/production manager when new tools/equipment is needed.

• Ensure machine and work place is safe and clean, routine maintenance on machines must be

performed
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, charts, tables, or study sample parts to determine the machining operation and the appropriate sequence of operations to be followed
• Set up and operate machines for repetitive machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, and profiling of cabinet parts

• Ensure that measurements are taken accurately and determine the materials for cutting or shaping.

• Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and maintain equipment by following manufacturer instructions; perform preventive maintenance
• Assemble machined metal parts and sub-assemblies with hand and power tools
• Test settings by measuring first-run parts, sample workpieces, and measuring positions
• Ensure safe operations by adhering to safety regulations and procedures

• Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
• Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to supervisors
• Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports

• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Employment Requirements
• Completion of secondary school is required.

• 3-4 years of work experience in the trade or Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program is required.

• Experience operating and programming CNC woodworking machinery in a cabinet or millwork manufacturing environment is an asset.

• Experience with CNC software such as Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, Alphacam, WoodWOP, or similar manufacturing software is considered an asset.

• Trade certification for machinists (CNC) would be an asset, but not mandatory.

• Proficiency in reading/writing English.
• Working knowledge of machinery and measurement tools
• Solid understanding of operating and production procedures
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and manuals
• Great attention to detail
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Good physical stamina and strength to handle materials and perform repetitive tasks

Benefits

Position is entitled to received 4% vacation pay of the gross salary each pay period. Overtime rate of 1.5 times the regular pay is applicable after 40 hours of work per week.
