We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Caregiver to provide in-home care for an elderly individual with a disability. The successful candidate will assist with personal care, daily living activities, companionship, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and mobility support while promoting the client's dignity, independence, and well-being.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and the safe use of mobility aids.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and assist with feeding when required.
- Administer or remind the client to take medications as directed by family members or healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and report changes in the client's physical or emotional condition.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Accompany the client to medical appointments and community activities when required
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the client's privacy and dignity.
- Follow care plans and safety procedures at all time
- Qualifications:
- Secondary school diploma.
- Caregiver training or related education is an asset.
- Previous experience providing care to elderly individuals or persons with disabilities is preferred.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and physically able to perform caregiving duties.
- Work Schedule:
- Full-time (40 hours per week)
- May include evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays as require
