Responsibilities
Tasks
- Set up, maintain, and administer accounting systems to track digital app transactions, in-store drop-offs, and commercial invoicing.
- Reconcile multiple revenue streams, matching digital credit/debit payments from app-based laundry orders against physical cash deposits from walk-in laundromat customers.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including monthly profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis reports for ownership evaluation.
- Establish cost-finding and budgeting procedures to monitor key operational variables, such as shifting commercial utility costs (water, natural gas, electricity) against company profit margins.
- Manage and process accurate invoicing for commercial accounts across the Rainy River District, tracking payments from eco-cleaning clients, lodges, and uniform rental contracts.
- Audit ledger entries and aging reports to ensure commercial accounts pay within agreed 30-day windows, and flag overdue accounts for collections.
- Process and track specialized rental accounts, ensuring continuous revenue recognition for long-term Flame Resistant (FR) and ARC-rated coverall rental, sales, and cleaning contracts.
- Track and verify business expenditures, including equipment maintenance costs, detergent inventory, delivery vehicle fuel, and promotional discounts (e.g., first-time user introductory discounts).
- Verify supplier invoices and balance ledgers for chemical distributors, uniform manufacturers, and laundry equipment vendors.
- Administer payroll processing for production workers, counter staff, and delivery drivers, verifying hours worked against labor budgets.
- Prepare and file provincial and federal tax obligations, including accurate calculation and remittance of Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) and corporate income tax lines.
- Analyze asset depreciation schedules for major capital investments, such as high-capacity commercial washers, industrial dryers, and delivery vehicles, optimizing tax write-offs.
- Ensure all financial records comply with Canada’s Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines.
