Truck Driver

Job description-

Job Responsibilities:

• Load, unload, and secure freight to ensure safe transportation and delivery.
• Obtain and maintain permits and documentation required for cross-border and international shipments.
• Operate straight trucks and tractor-trailers to transport goods efficiently and safely.
• Monitor vehicle condition and inspect tires, brakes, lights, refrigeration units, and other equipment.
• Handle collection and processing of payments related to freight transportation.
• Adjust and inspect braking systems to maintain safe vehicle operation.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Communicate shipment updates and operational information with dispatch personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of cargo details, driving hours, mileage, and fuel usage.
• Install and secure tarps and ensure cargo is properly protected and safely fastened during transit.

Eligibility Requirements:

• A Secondary school graduation certificate is the minimum educational requirement for this job.
• No experience required, on-the-job training will be provided
• A valid regular driver's license is often required to start the hiring process.
• AZ class license preferably be required.
• Background checks to ensure that one has no disqualifying criminal history
• A good understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards is crucial
• Strong communication skills in English are essential for understanding road signs, and regulations, andeffectively communicatingwith others.
• Location : 64 Top Bank Drive, Etobicoke, ON, M9W 7B8
• Salary : $36.00 to 40.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 30 hours per week
• Overtime :1.5 times gross pay after completion of 44 hours
• Vacation Pay : 4% on every pay period
