Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required, with a strong concentration in accounting courses.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in a professional accounting role is required.
  • Experience limited to bookkeeping, accounting clerk, accounting assistant, or entry-level accounting technician positions will not be considered as meeting the minimum experience requirement.
  • Applicants must have hands-on experience in both personal and corporate accounting engagements, including personal income tax preparation, financial statement preparation, corporate accounting, financial analysis, and the provision of financial and tax advisory services.

On site

 Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Identify clients' financial goals and objectives
  • Plan, set up and administer accounting systems
  • Analyze clients' financial records
  • Prepare financial information statements for corporations including reviews and compilations.
  • Develop financial plans for clients
  • Make recommendations concerning cash management, insurance coverage, retirement and estate planning
  • Prepare financial statements and reports
  • Recommend improvements to accounting systems and management practices
  • Develop and maintain cost findings, reporting and internal control procedure
  • Prepare income tax returns from accounting records
  • Analyze financial documents and reports
  • Examine accounting records

Credentials

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses 

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is preferred
  • Candidates who are actively pursuing their CPA designation and possess extensive accounting or auditing experience will also be considered.
